1. Who we are
TradeTime (tradetime.app) is operated by TRADETIME.APP LTD (company number 16613192, registered office: 199 Lyham Road, London, SW2 5PY), the data controller for your personal data. Contact: hello@tradetime.app.
2. What we collect
- Account & profile: name/display name, email, password (stored hashed by our auth provider), profile details and languages you add, avatar.
- Listings & lessons: what you teach/learn, bookings, schedules, reviews you give and receive, messages you send other users.
- Video lessons: lessons held on our built-in video are transmitted live through our video provider (Daily.co). We do not record or store the audio or video of lessons. (If recording is ever introduced, this policy will be updated and your consent sought first.)
- Payment data: if you buy tokens or (in future) pay for lessons, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details; we receive limited confirmation data.
- Usage & device data: log data, IP address, pages/actions, and platform metrics used to operate and improve the service.
- Support & feedback: messages to support, feedback you submit.
3. Why we use it, and our lawful basis

4. Who we share it with
We share data only as needed to run the service, with providers acting on our instructions:
- Supabase — database, authentication, storage.
- Stripe — payment processing (when payments are enabled).
- Daily.co — video lessons (where used).
- Google (Gemini) — powers the support assistant (where used).
- Resend — transactional email.
- Vercel — application hosting.
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data if required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of users. Other users see the parts of your profile, listings, and reviews that the platform is designed to show them.
5. International transfers
Some providers above process data in the United States or other countries outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Standard Contractual Clauses, or an adequacy decision).
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it. Account data is kept while your account is open; some records (such as transaction/dispute history) may be retained longer where required. When an account is deleted, we anonymise rather than break records other users rely on (for example, a lesson you taught someone else).
7. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to: access your data; have it corrected or erased; restrict or object to processing; data portability; and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, contact hello@tradetime.app. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
8. Cookies
We use only essential cookies — the ones needed to sign you in (your session) and to remember your Learn/Teach preference. We do not use advertising or third-party analytics cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is required. If we add any non-essential cookies in future, we will ask for your consent first.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, hashed passwords, access controls) to protect your data, but no system is perfectly secure.
10. Children
TradeTime is for users 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
We may update this policy and will notify you of material changes.
