Terms of Service

Last updated: 22 July 2026

These Terms govern your use of TradeTime, operated by TRADETIME.APP LTD (company number 16613192, registered in England & Wales; registered office: 199 Lyham Road, London, SW2 5PY) (“TradeTime”, “we”, “us”), at tradetime.app. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use TradeTime.

1. What TradeTime is

TradeTime is an online marketplace that connects people who want to teach a skill with people who want to learn one. We are a platform, not the provider of the lessons. Lessons are arranged and delivered between users. We are not a party to any lesson, do not employ teachers, and do not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or outcome of any lesson.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. By using TradeTime you confirm you meet this.

3. Your account

  • Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your login secure.
  • One account per person. We may refuse, suspend, or remove accounts (see section 12).

4. How lessons work

  • Booking: a learner requests a lesson; the teacher accepts. Tokens are held in escrow when a booking is accepted.
  • Completion: after the lesson, escrow is released to the teacher (on the learner's confirmation, or automatically after the stated window).
  • Reviews: both sides may review each other. Reviews must be honest and must not be abusive, defamatory, or fake.
  • Cancellations, no-shows and disputes are handled under our published process. We may refund a learner or release to a teacher based on the evidence available. Our decision on a dispute is final at the platform level, and does not affect your statutory rights.

5. Tokens

  • Tokens are an in-platform feature used to book lessons. They are not money, not e-money, not a currency, and not a financial instrument.
  • Tokens are non-redeemable: they have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for money, cannot be withdrawn, transferred, sold, or traded, and confer no ownership or interest of any kind.
  • Tokens are earned by teaching or (where enabled) purchased for use on the platform only. A purchase is a payment for the use of the service, not a deposit and not a store of monetary value.
  • We may modify, expire, or discontinue tokens, subject to fair notice.

6. Fees

TradeTime does not charge a fee on token-based lessons. Where paid (real-money) lessons are enabled in future, we will charge the commission disclosed at the time, subject to additional terms shown at the point of purchase. We may change fees with reasonable notice.

7. Your content and intellectual property

  • You keep ownership of the content you create (listings, messages, materials).
  • You grant TradeTime a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, display and transmit your content solely to operate the platform.
  • You warrant that you have the right to teach and share everything you use in a lesson, and that it does not infringe anyone's copyright, trademark, or other rights. You are solely responsible for the material you teach.
  • Lessons are not recorded. Lessons take place over live video, an external link, or in person. We do not record or store the audio or video of your sessions. If we ever introduce recording, we will tell you clearly and ask for your agreement before any lesson is recorded.
  • Copyright complaints: if you believe content infringes your rights, email hello@tradetime.app and we will review and remove infringing material.

8. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • teach or share anything illegal, harmful, or that you have no right to share;
  • harass, abuse, discriminate against, threaten, or endanger anyone;
  • post false, misleading, or fraudulent content or reviews;
  • attempt to take payment off-platform to avoid fees, or solicit users away from TradeTime in breach of these Terms;
  • misuse tokens, exploit bugs, or manipulate rankings, reviews, or referrals;
  • upload malware, scrape the platform, or interfere with its operation.

9. In-person lessons and safety

Some lessons may take place in person. TradeTime does not vet users and is not responsible for what happens during in-person meetings. Meet in public places, tell someone where you are going, and use your judgement. Meeting anyone you have met online carries risk, which you accept.

10. Disclaimers

  • The platform is provided “as is.” We do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any lesson will meet your expectations.
  • TradeTime does not provide professional advice. Lessons (including any relating to trading, finance, health, or law) are the personal views of the teacher, are not professional or regulated advice, and must not be relied on as such.
  • We are not responsible for the conduct of any user, online or in person.

11. Suspension and termination

  • We may suspend or terminate an account that breaches these Terms, harms other users, or repeatedly fails to attend booked lessons. Suspension is reversible; we aim to act proportionately and give reasons where appropriate.
  • You may close your account at any time. Because tokens have no cash value, closing your account does not entitle you to any payment.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, TradeTime is not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss arising from the conduct of other users or from lessons. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law (including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud), and nothing affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be notified, and continued use after changes means you accept them.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
